Hot
Springs National Park, Ouachitas Region
|
The Ouachitas region features a true rarity
among mountain ranges in the United States – ridges that run
east to west. With the thermal waters of Hot Springs
National Park, deposits of diamonds and quartz crystals, and
sparkling lakes and rivers, the Oauchitas are known world
wide for an abundance of unique natural treasures. This
region has a long history of being a vacation hot spot for
celebrities, athletes, presidents and some of the most
colorful figures America has ever known. |

Established by President Andrew Jackson in
1832, Hot Springs National Park was the first federal
reservation. The city and park get their name from the
steaming spring waters that have long been thought to be a
source of natural healing. Hot Springs National Park
preserves thermal springs and historic bathhouses in the
Ouachita Mountain resort town of the same name. Take a tour
of Historic Bathhouse Row and then schedule an appointment
for a thermal bath, massage or mud treatment. |
