Arkansas
Springs
Throughout the state, you’ll find inspiring
waterfalls, rarely explored caves and freshwater springs waiting
to refresh your spirit.
|
Arkansas has a lot of springs, and
many towns here are named for them. The Champion is
Mammoth Spring located in the town of the same name.
Gushing at 9.78 million gallons an hour, it’s the 10th
largest spring in the world and the
source of the Spring River. |
 |
 |
Eureka Springs is home to Arkansas’s
second largest spring – Blue Spring. The Waters of Hot
Springs include 47 clear springs, most bubbling in at an
average 143 degrees F. |
|
In the northwest corner of the state, it
was believed the 28 springs along Sage Creek produced
water of medicinal quality, giving Siloam Springs its
name. Heber Springs also grew up around mineral springs.
Blanchard Springs are a landmark outside Blanchard
Springs Caverns. |
 |
|
Other towns around the state named for
springs include Cave Springs, Elm Springs, Mineral
Springs, Ravenden Springs, Warm Springs, Sulphur
Springs, Valley Springs, Springdale, Springfield,
Springtown, Witts Springs, Whelen Springs and Withrow
Springs. |
